Brush Park

Housing

SDI Structures served as the Structural Engineer of Record for multiple buildings within City Modern, a transformative mixed-use development that has redefined Detroit’s historic Brush Park neighborhood. Located between Downtown and Midtown, the master-planned community combines contemporary architecture with the rich character of one of Detroit’s most storied districts. The development introduced hundreds of new residential units across a diverse collection of apartment buildings, townhomes, and mixed-use structures, creating a vibrant, walkable neighborhood that reconnects the urban fabric while supporting Detroit’s continued resurgence.

Working across multiple phases and building types, SDI provided structural solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each project while maintaining consistency with the overall vision for the community. The development included multi-story residential buildings constructed over podium parking, ground-floor retail spaces, rooftop amenity areas, and a variety of architectural expressions designed by several nationally recognized design teams. Through close collaboration with architects, developers, and contractors, SDI helped deliver efficient, economical structural systems that supported ambitious project schedules and contributed to the successful realization of one of Detroit’s most significant residential redevelopment efforts.
