Flexibility in BIM applications was a key to keeping a fast moving design build project on schedule and on budget at the University of Notre Dame. The 5,000 seat ice arena is the new home for Irish hockey. SDI capitalized on the strengths of Revit, Fasttrack, and SDS2 modeling to move the project quickly from concept to fabrication. As BIM software and owner expectations quickly evolve, the ability to shift smoothly between modeling systems is integral in advanced performance in structural design. SDI's efforts with Fasttrack was featured in "Structural Engineering and Design."
